Having a good routine in place is helpful for SO many reasons. Let me share about my last few weeks and you’ll see one reason why.
January threw me several curve balls. LOL Just when I started the year off with some great things, some unexpected things occurred in my personal life that took me to being on the road for several days off and on throughout the month. I had my plan for January, and that plan didn’t quite hit the mark.
So now that those things are balancing out, I took a deep breath on Monday as the first of the new month and got back on track! Luckily, I already practiced my theme days so much that I just took a moment to shake it off and start again!
Theme days are so helpful because I don’t have to reinvent the wheel constantly. I just started my routines again and feel better already!
What kind of routines? Well, for starters, how I start my day!
During January, because I was out of pocket off and on so much, I took off my “do not disturb” times on my phone so that I could be available more there. It was amazing how quickly I felt overwhelmed and feeling that I was all over the place. Monday, I put my phone back on “do not disturb” between the hours of 9pm to 8am, and wow, a sigh of relief came over me automatically! We have to have hours that we do not engage with our phones in order to maintain that time for ourselves.
With that extra time, it mainly helps me in the mornings. I get up early, and now have a good couple of hours to do the things I need to do to get ready for my day. My “ME” time. Exercise, reading, and the other things that are so important to get my head in the right place before my day begins.
Here’s another blog I wrote about this very thing! Click here to read about what I did to help with my routine!
Then, I jumped right back in to my Theme Days to get my schedule back on track. Read more about my specific Theme Days here. This allows me to prioritize the things I need to get done, which for me is so important. I don’t feel like I’m all over the place when I practice my theme days routinely.
It also helps to remind me of the things that are important! A necessity in running my business. When we go off with no plan or routine, we tend to miss things. To completely forget about them. So consider making yourself some theme days for those constant reminders!
Yes, it’s that easy!
It really is. That easy. Set up some good and simple routines for yourself and then incorporate some theme days throughout your week and you’ll be surprised at what all you can get done!
I’d love to hear what kinds of things you do to keep yourself organized, or if you have theme days you use!
Have a productive day/week/month/year! Cheers!
